VCF Mestalla are back in action at the Antonio Puchades against the leaders UD Ibiza at 12 pm kick-off time on matchday 5 of group III B of Segunda B after topping up their energy levels during the international break.
It will provide a new opportunity for VCF Mestalla to return to winning ways at home where they are still unbeaten.
Valencia CF will up against the leaders who are sitting pretty at the top of the table after maintaining their perfect start to the season with four wins in their opening four matchdays after beating Alcoyano on Wednesday in their game in hand.
The two sides met in pre-season just before the beginning of the competition and the game ended in a 0-1 loss to UD Ibiza with a late penalty call against Kevin Sibille who will be unavailable through suspension for Sunday.
Óscar Fernandez and Hugo Gónzalez gave their pre-match thoughts ahead of Sunday’s match:
Óscar Férnandez: “We’re hosting the league leaders who are going to make a lot of things difficult for us, but we’re going to try to dictate play right from the off to take our opening win”.
Hugo González: It’s a beautiful game and we’re up for it. We faced them in pre-season and we’re going to do our best to have a different scoreline this time around. We expect a similar game from the opposition. Some things will be different as you’re getting match fitness, but we’re expecting a hard-fought game. They have a perfect start to the season but I’m sure we’ll stand up to them”.
